P Your constituency has reached into
downtown Miskolc, but it is heading
out of it. Although it includes villages
with a right-wing tradition, You took
Your mandate from an MSZP representative and have been holding it for
the third term. How much is it the
merit of Your party and to what extent
due to individual performance?
– I am an MP for Fidesz. The national
performance, the support, the local activists
of the party and my work all contributed to
the election results. These cannot be separated.
My rivals might attack these elements even
individually. So far, I have successfully fought
these battles.
P What is Katalin Csöbör doing well?
Or more precisely, is there something
that You do which differentiates You,
say, from other MPs of the county?
– An MP can choose from two options:
focusing on national politics or local affairs.
MPs on the list are more concerned with
national politics. As an elected representative
in an individual district, I focus on local
affairs. I consider it my primary task to
represent the interests of the people of Borsod
and Miskolc, to support their goals. For
example, to make coronavirus control and
patient care as effective as possible so that
catering and tourism businesses can survive
lockdowns caused by the pandemic. I want
to attract as much investment as possible to
the area to make up for lost jobs, and I am
working hard to get the Y Bridge built
properly. I do politics from Miskolc or Zsolca,
not from Budapest.
